Editor Nate Smith was caught in traffic and decided to undertake a series of autobiographical sketches based on what we noticed his own face doing in the rearview mirror.

This is the first cover to feature the artwork of Nate Smith.

As for the symbolism of the emotions covered in this monumental work, we have depictions of disbelief, tiredness, confusion, snarliness, sadness, cyclopticness, askewedness, volatility, mouth deletion, the angry smirk, checking out the car to the right, demonic onset, ascension of horns, scribilacity, pursed lips and sheer elation.

We salute Smith for isolating 16 emotions of varying degrees. It takes an artist with significant powers of observation to first be able to identify that many iterations of emotion, and secondly to have the brain-hand coordination to record those observations in a way that fellow human beings are able to identify with.

Smith has become a published artist to be reckoned with.
